screenings, encounters, workshops for everyone aged five and over
Lotte Reiniger, an early 20th century German filmmaker who experimented with animation in the cinema, taking her inspiration from the shadow theatre, is the star of this Microfestival run by the Palazzo delle Esposizioni's Art Workshop in conjunction with the publishing house Fatatrac, which publishes the Italian version of Young Charlotte: Filmmaker produced by illustrator Frank Viva for the MoMA in New York.
Two days devoted to kids and grownups alike, roaming from the cinema to art and from music to publishing, to admire together the German director's animated shorts set to music and remixed live in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Rom and with Flxer Team, Live Performing Meeting, to talk about art books for children and to take part in workshops on shadows to invent original stories by playing with light and shadow.
