directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, starring Tom Hanks, Marlon Wayans and Irma P. Hall, USA 2004, 104 min., 35mm, Italian version
An unlikely gang of thieves digs a tunnel from an old lady’s cellar to the vault of the local casino to steal its takings. A remake of the 1955 movie The Ladykillers, this brilliant black comedy’s markedly grotesque, surreal and mocking approach is supported by a histrionic Tom Hanks in the part of a self-styled professor passionate about Rococo music.
