directed by Simone Bitton. France, Belgium, 2009 (100 min.) - original version with Italian subtitles
Franco-Israeli director Simone Bitton revists the occupied territories in a moving probe into the death of Rachel Corrie, a young US pacifist killed by an Israeli army bulldozer while trying to prevent the demolition of a Palestinian home in the Gaza Strip in 2003. The documentary, which shows us the CCTV footage and photographs taken on that day for the very first time, is not merely an attempt to identify the culprits, it also prompts a broader reflection on youth and idealism in general.
