When Italy fell prey to a terrible drought in the summer of 2022, Paolo Cognetti saw the source in his mountain home run dry for the very first time. That shocking experience prompted the talented narrator of The Eight Mountains to get behind the camera for the first time, taking us on an interior journey along the paths of the Monte Rosa that helps us, through the experiences and testimonials of the local population, to fix in our minds the beauty of the landscapes and glaciers that are fated to disappear or to change for ever as an inevitable consequence of our changing climate.
