(USA 1917) directed by John Ford, starring Harry Carey, Molly Malone, B/W, duration: 68’, 18 fps, 35mm silent, Italian intertitles
The first feature directed by John Ford, as well as the earliest film by the legendary director preserved in its entirety, Straight Shooting already contains in some ways styles and themes that will be central throughout his career, such as the pivotal role of the conflict between "wilderness" and settled civilization. The film is also one of twenty-six that Ford made with Harry Carey, one of the great stars of silent westerns.
