directed by Roberto Rossellini. Italy, 1948, 75 min.
Rossellini magnifies Magnani's art by making use of the endless palette of vocal nuances and mimicry that the actress offered him. The first of the two episodes that make up the film brings to the screen Cocteau's Human Voice, the disturbing telephone confession of a woman with the lover who is leaving her.
