A reporter has decided to marry, settle down and quit the profession, but his editor-in-chief does everything in his power to keep him focused on a spectacular case, triggering a spate of misunderstandings.  The third version of this celebrated comedy is a seamless laughter machine in which Lemmon and Matthau paired provide one of their best performances.
