Three escaped convicts hold a family hostage while waiting to receive the money that will allow them to flee abroad.  But the tension in the house soon rises to an unbearable pitch.  This exciting, claustrophobic thriller with a stunning cast is at its most spectacular in the showdown between Frederic March and an unwontedly evil Humphrey Bogart.
