Italian painting tackles the revolutionary events and major battles of the Risorgimento.  Fernando Mazzocca, who co-curated the exhibition with Carlo Sisi and who is an acknowledged authority and expert on the period, will be revisiting the epic story of the Risorgimento in the light of the major historical paintings produced by the artists, the famous "soldier painters", who decided to play a front-line role in the long-awaited construction of a nation.
