Karrer's days seem to be all very much alike, spent wandering aimlessly about and invariably ending up at the Titanic Bar. His passion for a singer prompts him to involve her husband in a smuggling venture but his plans go awry. In this cult movie Béla Tarr perfects his unique style consisting of legendary long takes that was to have a lasting impact on the European art house movie.
