After the great success of last season's screenings, the film programme Some Like It Classic is back, featuring another string of masterpieces that made Cinema history and that contemporary audiences will be able to enjoy in their original 35mm format on the big screen. The season's main attractions will be some of the most beloved masters of Cinema: Buñuel, Kurosawa, Herzog, Fellini, Wilder, Kazan, Melville and Sternberg, just to name a few. Along with the most renowned and celebrated titles, some rarities will also be presented: Fröken Julie by Sjöberg, winner of the 1951 Grand Prize of the Cannes Film Festival; Le Trou, the last film by Jacques Becker; also, the opening night will feature, for the first time in Rome, a special screening of the only surviving reel of Marizza, genannt die Schmuggler-Madonna, one of Murnau's lost films, acquired and restored by the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia - Cineteca Nazionale. The event will be followed by a screening of La nuit américaine, by Truffaut. The programme will be a feast for the eyes of film buffs of all ages, and a unique chance for audiences to share and experience in a movie theatre some of cinema's finest achievements.
