The Palazzo delle Esposizioni is devoting its energy once again to a reflection on the major themes of contemporary reality in a series of documentaries, selected throughout the world, that
Internazionale is presenting in Rome after their screening at the festival of journalism in Ferrara. The retrospective continues to map topical cases and issues, opening up this year more than ever before to scenarios on the sidelines of the mainstream media narratives, offering fresh and hitherto unseen insight into the complexities of the world around us through gripping, deep and exemplary stories with no filter. We will be travelling to Brasil to denounce the Evangelical drift in national politics through the battles of young homosexual parliamentarian Jean Wyllys, to Finland to explore Europe's fears and its xenophobia from a disturbing and unprecedented perspective, to Qatar to discover the way migrant workers are exploited in the building sites for the World Cup 2022, and to Great Britain to listen to the voices of the man in the street as well to the analysts and experts and to explore Brexit as a mirror of the changes in Western societies. We will be returning to India with the explosive political phenomenon of the Aam-Aadmi Party and its leader, anti-corruption champion Arvind Kejriwal, and to Africa to address the urgent issue of female genital mutilation in the company of young activist Jaha Dukureh. A school classroom in Sicily hosts an awkward debate between Europe's conscience and the hopes of asylum-seekers newly landed in the region, and on a world tour we will be taking stock, with many surprises in store, of one of the most topical economic and social issues: basic income.
