23 April - 15 July 2002
The exhibition was based on a project by William Klein himself (born in New York in 1928), and displayed the images that the great photographer, American by birth but an adopted Frenchman, dedicated to the city where he chose to live: Paris. The shots cover a period that ranges from the 1960s to early 2002 and touch on every aspect of Parisian life: the streets, work, sports, politics, fashion, and the banlieues, portraying the city that the artist called "cosmopolitan, multicultural and completely multi-ethnic."
The exhibition, held in conjunction with another dedicated to Klein at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris, was part of the Festival Internazionale FotoGrafia in Rome.
