directed by Antonio Capuano. Italy, 1991, 83 min.

Surviving the massacre of his family, 12-year-old Vito plunges down the spiral of social decline into drug dealing, robbery, prostitution and jail, perfecting his journey into crime by ending up joining the Camorra. A crude and honest depiction of stolen childhood in Naples, Capuano’s debut looks to the early Pasolini for his disturbing and violent head-on approach to reality. The film won International Critics’ Week in Venice and triggered the season of Neapolitan New Wave cinema.
