directed by Maria Iorio and Raphaël Cuomo. Switzerland, Italy, 2012, 75 min., original Italian version with English subtitles
An atmospheric revisitation of the sets and content of Mamma Roma by two Swiss artists committed to reconstructing a countermemory of the “economic boom”. Interweaving pieces of the film, footage of the Tuscolano neighbourhood, fragments of script, first-hand witnesses and period ads and slogans, they reflect on the country’s anthropological transformation denounced in Pasolini’s film.
