directed by Ciprì and Maresco. Italy, 1998, 94 min.
Split into three episodes interweaving grotesque and irreverent characters in a monstrous and apocalyptic Palermo, this alien film in the panorama of Italian cinema brings an extreme, nihilistic and desperate theatre of the absurd to the silver screen. This was the last film to fall foul of the censor’s axe due to its “cynical” transformation of the preaching and passion of Christ.
