(USA 1947) by John Ford, starring Henry Fonda, Dolores del Río, Pedro Armendáriz, b/w, 104’, 35mm Italian dubbed version
In a Central America country shaken by the revolution, a persecuted priest decides to flee, with the help of a woman and an outlaw. But finally he understands that his mission forces him to stay and meet his destiny. A little-known work by John Ford, it deserves to be revalued. It features an extraordinary cast and two giants of Mexican cinema, here working as a producer (director Emilio Fernández) and a camera operator (Gabriel Figueroa).
