directed by Billy Wilder, starring Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Ron Rich, USA 1966, 125 min., b/w, 35mm, original version with Italian subtitles
A television cameraman is hit by a football player while covering a game, and his lawyer brother-in-law persuades him to simulate paralysis in an attempt to screw the insurance company. This highly amusing and cynical comedy was the first in which Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau paired up, Matthau playing a memorable character that quite rightly earned him an Oscar. With a burst of irresistibly scathing quips, Wilder paints an unforgettable picture of a world of sharks.
