While in England, an American man convinces a petty thief who had attacked him to leave her gang and follow him. But her brother tracks them down. They end up in a cave in which strange children, born as a result of a nuclear experiment, are imprisoned. Half exploitation, half arthouse film, this is one of Losey's most atypical and disturbing works. Lately it reached a cult status, also thanks to his sensational visual appeal.
