Admission free while places last – reservations are required

directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. Belgium, France, 1999, 95 min., Italian version

Rosetta, who lives in a mobile home with her alcoholic mother, goes into town every day to look for work, obsessed by the fear of getting stuck on the sidelines of life. The two brilliant Belgium directors stay glued to their heroine’s body, allowing us to share her anxious breathing and the furious energy of her constant struggle against the cruel cynicism of today’s world. The film won the Palme d’Or and award for best actress in Cannes
