A couple of medics and their children are separated from one another while fleeing from Syria. The kids, both under age, are detained alone in Turkey while their mother and father manage to reach Denmark and Canada respectively in the hope that they will all be able to live togther again sooner or later. For the time being, though, they are prisoners of a system that has reduced their family life to an endless round of Skype calls. Will they ever manage to meet up again? Amid coups de theatre, hopes kindled and hopes dashed, Reunited shows us what awaits refugees after the difficulties of a harsh journey: Kafkaesque red tape that makes it impossible for them to live a normal life.

Mira Jargil, born in 1981, Mira Jargil graduated as a documentary film director from the National Film School of Denmark in 2011. Her graduation film, The Time We Have, has won numerous awards, including the Reel Talent Award at the CPH:DOX, the Cilect award for the best graduation film, a Danish Robert award and a Golden Panda at the Sechuan TV Festival in China. Dreaming of a Family (2013), her first documentary after leaving film school, won the Robert award for best documentary. Reunited (2020) was presented for the first time in competition at the CPH:DOX festival in Copenhagen.
