(UK, 1982) directed by Jerzy Skolimowski, starring Jeremy Irons, Jiri Stanislav, Eugene Lipinski, color, 97’, 35mm, Italian dubbed version
Three Polish construction workers and a construction manager arrive to London to renovate an apartment owned by a rich fellow countryman. But in the meantime, after a dramatic political change, martial law is declared in Poland. One of the best films by Skolimowski, both a harsh critic of his country and a merciless portrait of UK's Thatcher era, with a fast-paced and often bitter narrative that doesn't lack corrosive irony.
