directed by Pappi Corsicato. Italy, 1993, 88 min.
Against the backdrop of a decaying and paradoxical Naples, three women from different social backgrounds struggle to redeem themselves, shaking off the shackles of family, men and money, only to end up even more alone. This stupendously grotesque comedy reveals Corsicato’s original talent from the outset, akin to the melodrama of Almodóvar in its saturated images and its ambiguous and unreal atmospheres.
