Harry is a retired teacher and a widower. He has always lived in the same neighborhood but one day his house is tore down to be replaced by a car park. So Harry embarks on a journey along with his cat Tonto. Mazursky directs an on-the-road comedy full of humanity and melancholy that once again proves how he was one of the most underrated directors of the New Hollywood Era. Art Carney won an Academy Award for his magnificent performance.
