Professor Franco Fussi, an ear nose and throat surgeon, a specialist in phoniatrics and one of the world's leading experts in artistic vocology, takes us on a short yet astonishing tour of the mechanics of voice production, exploring the way the vocal chords work as a source of vibration, analysing the role of the resonating cavity in varying the timbre of the voice and in implementing its audibility, and observing breathing in the component parts of its support functions, in order to end up by illustrating the various postures of the phonoresonantial apparatus in a whole range of artistic uses of the voice.
The meeting is part of the EUREKA! Rome 2019 program, promoted by Roma Capitale - Department of Cultural Growth
