FRANCESCA RACHELE OPPEDISANO and BRUNA FILIPPI | Carmelo Bene. Above Everything, Nothing

22 may 2019
admmission free

In the early 1980s Bene devised the body of the actoral machine to definitively ward off the authoral subject in favour of a gradual paring down of the stage, on which the voice gained a growing foothold. The Theatre Biennale Workshop that Bene directed behind closed doors, far "from the altars of dramaturgy", devised as a crucible of actoral machines in which word and sound are freed once and for all of their meaning, came to symbolise the radical problem of meaning-nothing.

The meeting is part of the EUREKA! Rome 2019 program, promoted by Roma Capitale - Department of Cultural Growth
