The Little Tramp buys a rose from the blind Flower Girl and she mistakes him for a millionaire. He wants to help her at any cost, and will try to achieve the impossible in order to find the money for her eye surgery. Three years in the making, 100,000 meters of exposed film: City Lights is one of the most vivid examples of the genius of Chaplin and of the deep humanity of his vision. No eyes will stay dry after witnessing such a hymn to life.
