This now legendary comedy propelled Sordi into the realm of Italy's cult figures, then as now, thanks to his irreppressible comic vein.  His personification of a young man fanatical about all things American is truly memorable, as the film takes a dig at the postwar generation drunk on movies and comic books from the other side of the Atlantic.
