This films marked the final flurry of Zavattini's Neo-Realism as he devised a "filmed newspaper" and called the directors of the era together to bring the news to the screen.  Amid dance halls, marriage agencies, the evening saunter and would-be suicides, we discover "life as it is" through the eyes of seven geniuses of the cinema.
