(France 1980) directed by Alain Resnais, starring Gérard Depardieu, Nicole Garcia, Roger Pierre, color, 125’, 35mm Italian dubbed version

The stories of three characters are told in the light of the behavioral theory conceived by Henri Laborit, who plays himself in the film. The encounter of the French biologist with Resnais' rationalist and ironic spirit starts off a one of a kind film, suspended between essay and fiction, scientific commitment and taste for fantastic storytelling. When it came out it was a cinematic sensation (it won the Grand Prix at Cannes and was nominated to an Academy Award). It still remains one of Resnais' most fascinating and original works.
