A man is killed on his wedding day as the result of an act of bravado. The crime goes unpunished and his young widow decides to seek her own revenge, devising a series of perfect crimes. Jeanne Moreau provides a breathtaking performance in this, possibly the best noir ever made by Truffaut (towards whom Kill Bill owes a huge debt...).
