Antoine Doinel and Christine get a divorce but they continue to be good friends. After a couple of affairs, Antoine finally rediscovers true love with a young sales assistant. The final chapter in the Doinel series, this film is also the most melancholy of them all, the portrait of a man constantly searching for happiness yet incapable of hanging onto it.
