A space ship takes four men and a woman to the moon, chasing after the mirage of presumed gold mines.  An extraordinary masterpiece and a milestone in the history of sci-fi cinema rarely shown in Italy, this was the first ever attempt to depict space travel in realistic terms.  The result was so convincing that it prompted the Nazis to withdraw all copies from circulation and to destroy the original model of the rocket in an endeavor to keep their own missile studies secret.  The Gianni Music Quartet marks the return of the brilliant mix of electronic and acoustic sounds of Gianni Rosace (a DJ and producer, and the founder of the Half Die Festival), with Pino Pecorelli on double-bass, Mike Cooper (John Lee Hooker, Howlin’ Wolf) on slide guitar and Pietro Pompei (Ars Ludi and the Ensemble di Musica Contemporanea with the Auditorium di Roma), on vibraphone and percussion.
