When his girlfriend leaves him, a pilot romances a sultry babysitter who 's looking after a kid in the same hotel. But the woman will turn out to be much more dangerous than she seems. Between melodrama and noir film, Don't Bother to Knock, directed by Englishman Ward Baker, owns part of its success to the exceptional cast. The film launched Anne Bancroft's career and confirmed Monroe's acting ability, in what can be considered her most disturbing and tormented role ever.
