Clara Tosi Pamphili | Mary Quant's Miniskirt: the onset of nonconformism in fashion

27 february 2020

In the years of the impassioned wave of protests, fashion too brought radical change, ranging from a growing focus on human rights to multiculturalism. Mary Quant intuited the revolutionary force of simple clothing, using everyday materials and street culture in a fun yet serious way, not unlike Pop Art and New Dada.
Clara Tosi Pamphili introduces us to the '60s fashion that turned its back on grown-up, consumer-driven, war-mongering society by developing childlike, androgynous and combative clothing.
