Spot! 20 minutes in a work of art

guided interpretation
from 17 November 2015 to 12 January 2016 at 6.30 pm

A new edition of SPOT!, offering a guide to the interpretation of a work of art, has been devised to run concurrently with the Truly a Dolce Vita? From Art Nouveau to Italian Design 1900-40 exhibition at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni. It consists in a series of three encounters designed to explore the story of three works of art and to learn all about the research and the work that went into the final result that we see today.
The event, which will be conducted by the exhibition curators, is scheduled to commence on Tuesday 17 November.

Tuesday 17 November at 6.30 pm
Carlo Bugatti, Table, 1902
This work marked an important swerve in the direction of Art Nouveau for this extremely celebrated and cosmopolitan Milanese cabinet maker.

Tuesday 15 December at 6.30 pm
Giacomo Balla, Dining Room, 1918
After the Futurist Reconstruction of the Universe manifesto, Balla and Depero began to create Futurist furniture and fittings both for their own homes and for public areas.

Tuesday 12 January at 6.30 pm
Franco Albini, Radio Case, 1938
A rationalist architect and forerunner of Italian design, Albini sought to infuse transparency and lightness into items of daily use.
