The Palazzo delle Esposizioni is kicking off its new 2012-2013 season with a week of free events for families and schools. The forum will be hosting numerous activities for educators and kids, along with the Travelling with Figures in the Fairy Tales of Italo Calvino exhibition (20 October 2012-20 January 2013), while Italian and French illustrators will be using pictures to tell traditional regional stories and unpublished anecdotes.
Pending the opening of the On the Silk Road. The Old Roads Between East and West exhibition, the workshop cube will be hosting Blow by Blow (20 October 2012-10 March 2013), an installation of coloured threads based on Vittoria Facchini's book, which will emerge and grow under the artist's guiding hand in a two-day work in progress with kids and their parents.
To mark the occasion, the Art Workshop will be accompanying the public on a journey to discover the collection of the Art Bookshelf, the first library in Italy to host the cream of international art publications for children with books by major artists and illustrators such as Bruno Munari, Maurice Sendak, Susy Lee and many, many more.
