Driving Energy Award 2024 Contemporary Photography24 September__12 October 2024

Terna’s Driving Energy Award 2024 – Contemporary Photography has reached a record number of entries. Over 3,300 photographers of all ages, coming from all Italian regions, representing a 20% increase over the previous edition.

The theme chosen for this edition was The invisible way, inviting photographers to interpret different forms of energy which, although invisible, produce visible effects. This is both a way of honouring the talent and the unique nature of the artists, who capture realities that do not exist for many people, or at least not yet, as well as celebrating Terna’s commitment to making its electrical infrastructure more and more “invisible” and sustainable.

The huge response to the Award confirms the Group’s success in organising an increasingly far-reaching cultural project representative of the entire Italian nation.

The number of participants surpassed 3,000 for the first time, reaching a total of 3,337: photographers of all generations from the 107 Italian provinces, with no significant difference in gender.

Moreover, thanks to a strong synergy with the world of academia which began in 2023 with the introduction of the Academy Mention, participation among students has tripled.
