directed by Michelangelo Antonioni. Italy, France, 1964, 116 min.
In the industrial desert of Ravenna, a traumatised young woman vainly seeks a balance. The splendid Monica Vitti plays out a common consumer society neurosis. Antonioni won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival with this, his first colour film, in which he uses colour as a subjective take on dissociated reality.
