The close bond between photography and the cinema is an undisputable fact from more than just a technical and stylistic point of view: the relationship between these two visual disciplines is also regulated by a shared poetic and philosophical element and can clearly be identified in the stylistic approach adopted in films by leading directors and in the visual work of major photographers.

 

Marina Spada has been involved in television, the cinema and documentaries since 1979. Her work includes the video-portraits for the television series Grandi Fotografi, including the episode devoted to Gabriele Basilico. The feature film Forza Cani (2002) was the first Italian experiment in shared production on the web and in the digital medium. Il mio domani was shown at the 2011 edition of the Festival di Roma. A book of photographs on the film was co-authored by Gabriele Basilico and Toni Thorimbert. Her work has won her approximately 30 national and international prizes.

 

Maurizio G. De Bonis is a journalist, a film and visual arts critic and a curator. He is the Editor-in-Chief of  Cultframe - Arti Visive. He ran CineCriticaWeb for fifteen years. He has written about the cinema for cinema.it, CineCritica and La Voce Repubblicana and managed a photography blog for Huffington Post Italia. He has published five books on the relationship between the cinema and photography and on contemporary photography. He has curated photographic exhibitions for public institutions, galleries and international museums.

Admission free while places last. Places for conversations, round tables and screenings will be assigned from one hour before the start of each event. Reservations may be made by membership card holders only. There will no further admission once the event has started.
